Established under the umbrella of our parent organization, the World Social Label (WOSL), AFSL extends our commitment to fostering inclusive societies and creating sustainable development to the vibrant continent of Africa.

Headquartered in Zambia, AFSL embodies a vision of positive change and opportunity for all Africans. Our mission is to catalyze social innovation and entrepreneurship while promoting ethical business practices across the region. By harnessing the power of collaboration and leveraging the expertise of our diverse membership base, AFSL aims to address pressing social challenges and unlock new pathways to prosperity.

Together, we are building an inclusive continent with the private sector, according to Agenda 2063.

What is Agenda 2063

Agenda 2063 is a strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of Africa over the next five decades. It envisions an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful continent, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena. AFSL ties into Agenda 2063 by aligning its mission and initiatives with the goals and priorities outlined in the agenda, particularly in areas such as social inclusion, economic empowerment, sustainable development, and regional integration.

What is Agenda 2030

Care to Change the World

Agenda 2030 is a global action plan adopted by the United Nations, consisting of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring prosperity for all by 2030. AFSL ties into Agenda 2030 by aligning its activities with the SDGs, particularly those related to social inclusion, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability. As a member-driven organization, AFSL collaborates closely with its parent organization, EUSL, to integrate the principles of Agenda 2030 into its operations and initiatives

What is a REC

Care to Change the World

REC stands for Regional Economic Community. A Regional Economic Community is a group of countries within a specific geographical region that have agreed to cooperate and integrate their economies to achieve common goals such as economic development, trade facilitation, and regional stability. RECs are established to promote regional integration and cooperation among member states, with the aim of enhancing economic growth, reducing poverty, and improving the overall welfare of the region’s inhabitants.

At AFSL, our divisions work in harmony to create a holistic approach to building a more inclusive society in Africa. Through diverse initiatives and collaborative efforts, each division plays a unique role in advancing our mission of promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development across the continent.

Together, our divisions form a cohesive and interconnected ecosystem that embodies our vision of a more inclusive and equitable society in Africa. By leveraging our collective strengths and working collaboratively, we strive to build a brighter future for all Africans.

AFSL Member Organization

Responsible for recruiting, managing, and engaging members across various sectors and industries in Africa. This division ensures member satisfaction and participation in AFSL initiatives, providing support services and fostering a sense of community among members.

AFSL Future Label

Dedicated to creating pathways for individuals to build a sustainable future. This division offers education and training programs designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed for success. Courses and programs are developed in collaboration with AFSL members, aligning with industry needs and opportunities.

AFSL Business

Oversees commercial activities and ventures undertaken by AFSL. AFSL also operates its own businesses across at least 20 different branches. These businesses serve as models of ethical and sustainable business practices, contributing to AFSL’s mission and generating revenue to support its initiatives.

AFSL Impact

Dedicated to driving impact through projects, blogs, news, and storytelling. This division serves as a platform for sharing success stories, insights, and updates on AFSL’s initiatives and the broader social impact landscape in Africa. Through compelling narratives and informative content, AFSL Impact aims to inspire action, spark dialogue, and amplify the voices of changemakers working towards a better future for Africa.

AFSL SCC

Promotes social and cultural development, as well as creative expression, in Africa. In addition to supporting artists, cultural entrepreneurs, and social enterprises, this division creates activities outside formal office hours to foster a vibrant and inclusive community. It champions the right to express oneself, promotes equality, and addresses issues such as LGBTQ+ rights, ensuring that AFSL’s initiatives reflect and respect the diversity of African societies.

AFSL ECSR

Focuses on engaging and collaborating with large companies, as well as companies with multiple contractors or subcontracts, referred to as “Portal Companies.” These entities play a significant role in the economy and supply chain, and the division works to promote ethical and sustainable practices within their operations. By partnering with Portal Companies, AFSL aims to extend its impact beyond SMEs and amplify its influence across diverse sectors of the economy.

Charity as a Business

Discover a new paradigm in social innovation where charity meets business, and impact is at the heart of every transaction. Charity as a Business (CaaB) represents a groundbreaking approach to philanthropy, leveraging the efficiency and sustainability of business practices to drive meaningful social change, and in the end drives more businesses to our members.

At AFSL, we believe in the transformative potential of CaaB to create a more inclusive and prosperous society. Our CaaB model enables businesses to integrate social responsibility into their core operations, aligning financial success with positive social impact, thus resulting in a brand development they would otherwise not have. This gives a win-win-win effect, where the local societies becomes more inclusive and our members generate more business, while at the same time we generate more members.

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to making a difference where it matters most. African Social Label, and its European counterpart, both members of the World Social Label Charity organization, embody a vision that goes beyond mere profit-making. Our approach is driven by a larger purpose: to channel surplus funds directly into our foundation, ensuring they reach those in need.

Through our innovative model, surplus generated by our initiatives flows into our foundation, empowering us to support a wide array of social projects. What sets us apart is our commitment to member-driven decision-making, where our diverse community – encompassing the African, European, American, and Asian Social Labels – plays an integral role in defining and shaping the projects we support. This guarantees the local connection we always strive for and create a high level of engagement among our members.

Based in Sweden alongside the European Social Label, the World Social Label serves as a hub of innovation and collaboration, tirelessly working day and night to advance our shared vision of a more inclusive society. Here, we strive to connect individuals, organizations, and initiatives from across the globe, empowering them to learn from each other’s experiences and drive meaningful change together.
